Procession and Ceremony at Harold Memorial Stone
The Festival Procession and Ceremony at Harold Memorial Stone.
The costumed medieval performers and traders will gather at Epping Forest District Museum at the end of Sun Street, and then walk in procession to the Harold Memorial Stone in the Abbey Churchyard. They will be accompanied by the medieval musicians.
(Route - Sun Street, Market Square, under the Lych Gate, into the Churchyard to the Harold Memorial Stone - entirely within the pedestrianized area.)
A guard of honour drawn up by Waltham Cross Army Cadets will be waiting.
We shall welcome our principal guests, who will lay flowers on the Harold Memorial Stone.
The new Rector of Waltham Abbey, the Rev'd Peter Smith, will join the Procession and will speak at the Ceremony.
Some medieval music will finish the ceremony.
